Welcome to Bergen

Getting from the airport

There are a few ways to get from the airport to the city centre, the cheapest and easiest way is with the light rail (called bybanen). Just exit the airport and take the escalator down and you’ll see the tracks!

You can buy tickets for this at the airport or on the ‘Skyss Billett’ app. (iOS, android). This ticket can also be used on all busses, so if you plan to take public transport more than 5 times, it is cheapest to buy a 7 day pass! (individual tickets cost 47NOK (around 4 euro), whilst a 7 day pass costs around 255 (around21))

Public transport

When in the city center, you won’t really need to use public transport. Bergen isn’t very big and it’s very easy to walk around the centre :)

If you want to go out of the centre, or perhaps if you’re staying in an AirBnB or with one of our hosts, there is usually lots of public transport options available. You can take either the light rail or the bus, depending on where you’re staying!

You can use google maps or skyss.no to check the timetable, and buy tickets with the app (iOS, android). The tickets are valid for both the light rail and the busses in Bergen (including the light rail to the airport), so if you’ll be taking more than 5 trips with public transport it is cheaper to buy the 7-day pass!

Taxi

If your budget includes travel with taxi, we can recommend using Bergen Taxi. You can contact them via phone 07000, app (iOS, Android) or visit their website at www.bergentaxi.no
