Mark Pringle is a British pianist and composer based in Berlin, working at the intersection of various forms of composed and improvised music. He is a Yamaha Jazz Scholar, Peter Whittingham Award winner, German Jazz Prize nominee (with LIUN + The Science Fiction Band) and has performed at numerous prominent locations across the UK, Germany, Denmark, France, Italy, Iceland, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Greece, Sweden, Austria and the Netherlands, including for BBC national radio. Mark works as a leader, side-person and collaborator in diverse artistic projects internationally with some of the most important voices of his and other generations, and can be found performing in contexts ranging from contemporary jazz and free improvisation to classical chamber music (notable performances include Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time), synth-pop, art song and new music.
